Correct Email Client Settings

The correct email client settings are as shown below.

 

POP3

Incoming POP3 server host name: mailx.freeparking.co.nz

Secure/Encrypted Connection: Enabled for SSL or SSL/TLS

Port number: 995

 

IMAP

Incoming IMAP server host name: mailx.freeparking.co.nz

Secure/Encrypted Connection: Enabled for SSL or SSL/TLS

Port number: 993

 

SMTP

Outgoing SMTP server host name: mailx.freeparking.co.nz

Secure/Encrypted Connection: Enabled for SSL or SSL/TLS

Port number: 465 or 587

Username and password authentication: Enabled and using the same username and password as for the incoming server.

 

Email Clients

To find where these settings are controlled in your email client please use the following guides.

 

Outlook

  • In all versions of Outlook on Windows from 2010 to the current version go to File and then Account Settings.
  • Double click on the displayed entry for the email account concerned.
  • The incoming and outgoing mail server host names will show on the page displayed.
  • The port numbers and Secure/Encrypted Connection settings are controlled from More Settings under the Advanced section.

 

Apple Mail

  • In the Apple Mail program go to the Mail tab and then Preferences.
  • Select the required email account from the list.
  • The Incoming Mail server (POP3) or Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) host name will be displayed and can be edited.
  • The incoming sever port number and Secure/Encrypted Connection settings are controlled from the Advanced Settings section.
  • To edit the Outgoing server host name click in the Outgoing server host name field and select "Edit SMTP Server List".
  • Edit the server listed as against the email account in question. The host name can be edited if required. The port number and Secure/Encrypted Connection settings are managed under the Advanced section for the SMTP server.

NOTE: Make sure to untick the Option "Automatically manage connection settings" for both the incoming and outgoing mail servers.

 

Mozilla Thunderbird

  • In Thunderbird go to Tools and Account Settings
  • To edit the Incoming server host name, port number and Secure/Encrypted Connection settings click on Server Settings in the menu on the left.
  • To edit the Outgoing server host name, port number and Secure/Encrypted Connection connection settings click on Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the menu on the left.
  • Select the server from the list and click the Edit button on the right.

 

Android Smart Phone

The instructions below are for a Sansung Gallaxy 7. If these instrcutions do not match the options provided on your device please search Google for "edit email account settings <your device>".

  • From an Inbox, tap the Menu icon Email Menu icon usually located in the upper-left.
  • Tap the Settings icon usually located in the upper-right.
  • Tap the appropriate account.
  • From the Advanced settings section, tap Server settings.

Note: The available, settings may vary depending upon the email account type.

 

Iphone

  • From the "Home" screen, tap the "Settings" icon.
  • Tap "Accounts & Passwords".
  • Select the account you wish to modify.
  • The incoming sever host name details can be managed from this screen.
  • To edit the outgoing mail server host name tap on the SMTP server name displayed.
  • That will open the SMTP server list.
  • The one that is currently set to be used with this particular email account is at the top and should be highlighted: Primary Server.
  • Tap on that one and you can edit the server host name if neccessary.
